Though the millennial generation has never experienced the days of black-only schools and segregated public facilities, we are tackling the after effects of racial/social injustice birthed from the destruction of segregation. These contemporary civil rights issues remain: unequal access to quality public education, socioeconomic inequality, disability discrimination, LGBTQ rights, racial and gender wage gap, immigrants’ rights, women’s rights, school-to-prison pipeline, police brutality and persistent racial profiling. - Ola Ojewumi
Martin Luther King's legacy is a constant reminder that change won't happen overnight or come easy, without combined collaborative efforts from people of ALL races and religions. Staying motivated and steadfast while advocating for the chief aim of ending racism and discrimination for the greater good of our world. We must never forget that the fight for equal rights and justice is not over. Embracing and acknowledging the evolution of voices and refusing to remain silent or be ignored for the purpose of healing race relations.
